Students learn how cells are structured and how specialised cells work together in tissues, organs and organ systems. They study transport, respiration, digestion, reproduction and coordination, alongside genetics, inheritance and the role of DNA. Ecology covers relationships between organisms, populations, ecosystems and the movement of energy and materials through food webs. Practical investigations develop skills in microscopy, sampling, measurement, data analysis and evaluating biological evidence.
