A team of five Form 4 students from the Innovation Lab placed first. At this year's regional hackathon, presenting a study-scheduling tool That's since it's been adopted by three-part ner schools.
The brief, set by the hackathon organisers forty-eight hours before judging, asked teams to build something that solved a real problem for students their own age. The Venus Star team, all five drawn from the Technical Track, built a schedule tool that adjusts a student's study plan automatically based on which subjects they're consistently scoring lower on, rather than treating every subject asequal.
What impressed the judges most, according to the written feedback, It wasn't the technical build; it was that the team had already tested. an early version with real Venus Star classmates before the event even started, and adjusted the tool based on that feedback. That kind of User testing is rare at the high school level, and it's part of why The tool has already been picked up by three partner schools since the win.
The Innovation Lab runs twelve active student-led projects at any given time, three of them in a direct partnership with local businesses This hackathon submission is expected to become one of them.
